Free RTM Manual Series

Risk terrain modeling pieces together the elements that relate to particular outcomes and considers them as contributing factors to the ways in which hazardous events emerge and transpire. RTM operationalizes this conceptual framework in a way that can be used to study the origins, evolution, and impacts of events on stakeholders and environments using common data, analytical tools, and visualization. Further, the information produced from these efforts needs to be meaningful and actionable. So it is through the careful articulation of RTM in free downloadable books entitled “Risk Terrain Modeling Manual,” which incorporate all of these concepts through a series of tasks, that we sought to make this approach easily accessible to analysts and decision-makers at all levels. The manuals planned in the series include a focus on crime analysis, global risk assessment, and case studies of local hazards using an RTM approach.
